About Isaac
Oakland native Isaac Schwartz started playing the drums at age 12. He quickly began honing his craft and started playing professionally at age 15. Since then he has worked continuously as a freelance artist, leading his own projects and drumming in numerous other groups as well. He has had the opportunity to play with international jazz greats Troy Roberts, Guy Mintus, and Chuck Israels as well as top Bay Area musicians including Erik Jekabson, Jesse Levit, Kasey Knudsen, Tom Catanzaro, Dillon Vado, Amy Dabalos, and many more. He has toured across the country as well as Europe and continues to push his craft and his vision. Currently, Isaac plays regularly in groups such as Heart Matter, High Standards, Jules Leyhe and the Family Jules Band, and Oak Landing, and he collaborates with Tom Catanzaro to run the Muse Jazz Collective, a performance and jazz mentoring and education project based in Concord. Isaac additionally fosters the jazz community in the Bay Area by co-running the Honor Jazz Jam, The Breakroom Jazz Jam, and The Muse Jazz Jam. He has performed at SF Jazz, Yoshi's, The Soundroom, Keys Jazz Bistro, The Fox Theater, Campbell Recital Hall, among other Bay Area venues.
